The Party Pickle
Dunk on your friends with this dill-rightful fan favorite appetizer.
Nothing says "let's party" like a bowl full of dill pickle dip. People love dips, and people love pickles, which means that your friends will be absolutely ga-ga over this recipe. We recommend sharing recipes with friends, so feel free to distribute this one as you see fit.
Here's what you'll need to feed your ferocious dill pickle cravings
- 1 lb Bacon - Cooked and chopped
- ⅓ Cup chopped green onion
- 2 - 8 oz packs of cream cheese (16 oz in total)
- 2 - 1 oz packs of Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix
- 1 Cup of chopped Suckerpunch Dill Pickle Spears
*For a tangier dip, use 12 oz of cream cheese and 4 oz of sour cream
**For a spicier version, use SuckerPunch Fiery Heat 3 Pepper Spears
Instructions
Add cream cheese and ranch dressing mix to a large mixing bowl and set aside.
Cook the bacon and set it aside to cool. Once the bacon reaches a temperature that is safe to handle, chop into bite-sized pieces. Try not to eat one. Add to the large bowl containing cream cheese and dressing mix.
Chop SuckerPunch Dill Pickle Spears into small chunks about the size of your fingernail and add to the mixing bowl.
Chop the green onion and add to the mixing bowl.
Mix the ingredients together using a large wooden spoon, folding the ingredients together evenly. For a more whipped and fluffy texture, you can blend using a hand mixer.
Sulivan's Suggested Uses:
Eat with crackers, chips, or another suitable dip accouterment. We recommend something solid like a thick-cut potato chip or industrial-strength cracker.
Party Dip Pro-Tip:
You'll want to have more than enough chips or crackers on hand as people will resort to using their hands to scoop out any last remaining dip should the chips run out. Don't allow your guests to embarrass themselves or do anything unsanitary, serve with lots of chips or crackers.
Remember:
No double-dipping, but double batches are encouraged! Making a double dose of this dip is easy, just use a bigger bowl and double the ingredients. As much as you'll want to, licking the bowl is definitely a party foul, so just make more than you think you'll need.

Sulivan's Suggested Uses:
A refreshing snackable spread great for sandwiches, crackers, and veggies. Pita chips are an excellent option for dunking into this dill-filled concoction, as are baby carrots, bell peppers, and sliced cucumbers.
Serve over the top of your favorite dishes for big-time dill flavor. Great on a piece of cedar plank grilled salmon and fantastic as a dressing for a fresh summer salad.
Sulivan The Sauce Boss Says:
Make this batch of delectable dill pickle dip the day before to let the flavors meld. You can serve this dip almost as soon as you make it, but a little extra time goes a long way in letting the flavors come together. This dip is best served chilled so put it back in the fridge once you're finished mixing it and allow it to cool down.

Sweet Onion Surprise
We know it's not technically a dill pickle dip, but this knockout version of onion dip will put your party guests in a food coma.
Much like our first dip, The Party Pickle, this dip is a hit at any gathering, big or small. Perfect for game day, family fun night, or as an easy hors d'oeuvre, this souped-up onion dip is simply sensational.
Let's take a gander at the intoxicating ingredient list for this pumped up, pickle infused onion dip:
- 2 packs Lipton Onion Dip
- 1 Cup of your favorite Mayonnaise
- 3 Cups of Sour Cream
- 1 cup of chopped SuckerPunch Sweet Onion Spears
- ½ cup chopped SuckerPunch Dill Pickle Spears
*Hint: To kick it up a notch, take some of the onions out of The SuckerPunch Sweet Onion spears out of the jar and carmelize them.
If you were expecting a recipe from scratch, we're happy to help you scratch that itch right here:
- 8 oz butter
- 1 Teaspoon Kosher Salt
- 1 large sweet onion - diced and caramelized
- 2 cups Sour Cream
- 1 cup Mayonnaise
- ½ Teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ Teaspoon white pepper
- 1/2 Teaspoon Kosher Salt.
- 2 cups diced SuckerPunch Sweet Onion Spears
- 1 cup diced SuckerPunch Dill Pickle Spears
Begin by caramelizing the onions in 8 oz of butter in a large saute pan, season with 1 teaspoon of kosher salt. Use low-medium heat to slowly caramelize the onion. This process will take time, but a longer caramelization means a sweeter onion flavor, so be patient!
Once your onions are caramelized, dump the pan of onions (juice included) into a large mixing bowl.
Once cool, add in mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, and stir well.
Add in your pickles and mix until the pickles are evenly distributed.
Cover with plastic wrap and let sit for one hour or until cool.
*Unlike the recipe that uses the pre-packaged dip mix, for this recipe, caramelized onions are a must! The pre-packaged onion dip starters have dried caramelized onions, so to get the onion flavor you crave, you'll need to caramelize some onions yourself.
Sulivan's Suggested Uses:
There's no wiggle room here; this dip is best with a thick cut, kettle-cooked potato chip. Some relationships are made to last, like dill and pickles or potatoes and onions. Don't get cute. Grab a bag of your favorite potato chips and tear into this superior onion dip.
This dip isn't just for dunking; it makes a great condiment for sandwiches. A simple spread on any bread or bun will make your burgers better, your barbecue bolder, and your boring bagged lunch a whole lot more exciting. Pickles and onions are a match made in tastebud heaven, and this dip will have your tongue believing in a higher power.
