Spicy Bloody Mary Skewers

If you're looking to add a little ka-boom to your otherwise bland beef kabobs, look no further than this recipe for SuckerPunch Spicy Bloody Mary Marinated Steak Skewers. When it comes to perfectly seasoned meat, SuckerPunch knows how to bring the heat; and no, we're not talking about the grill.

These skewers are the bomb, and with a SuckerPunch kick, that's second to none. You can go scorched earth on your barbecue buddies and picnic pals with any of our products. We think it's only fair to warn you, if you present your guests with this grown-up version of grab-and-go grub, there's a high probability you will be recruited for catering jobs, cookbook consultation, and general chefery. Let's get cookin'!

Spicy Bloody Mary Steak Skewers Recipe

Prep Time: 15 minutes (plus 6 hours marinating time, inactive)

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 6 hours 25 minutes (25 minutes active)

Makes: 4 skewers

Ingredients

2 New York Strip Sirloin Steak about 12 oz, cut into 2" pieces

1 ½ cups SuckerPunch Gourmet Spicy & Bold Bloody Mary Mix

4 extra-large crimini mushrooms, halved

2 green pepper, seeds and stem removed, cut into eighths

8 cherry or grape tomatoes

1 sweet Vidalia onion, quartered

4 wooden skewers

**Free to substitute your favorite grilling meat instead of beef. This steak kabob recipe works great with chicken, lamb, pork, or your personal choice of grilled meat.

Directions

  1. Pour the Bloody Mary Mix into an airtight, non-reactive container,
  2. Add the New York Strip Sirloin Steak pieces. Stir with a spatula or with your hands to ensure the meat is fully covered in the Bloody Mary mix.
  3. Refrigerate for six hours. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least an hour before cooking to ensure your grill doesn't catch them on fire.
  4. Drain the Bloody Mary steak mix and discard. Preheat the grill and arrange the meat, peppers, onions, mushrooms, and cherry tomatoes on the skewers.
  5. Grill the marinated steak kabobs over medium-high heat, about 4-5 minutes on each side. Serve the grilled steak kabobs immediately.

Steak Skewer Side Dish Ideas

Here are some side dish ideas that pair great with our Bloody Mary Skewers without the addition of any food that your food eats.

SuckerPunch Esquites Mac N' Cheese

Keep it in the SuckerPunch family with this side dish. Esquites is incredible as it is by itself, it's even better in mac n' cheese.

Mexico meets middle America in this elevated version of the Sonoran street food sensation. Creamy cheese, sweet, crunchy corn, and the snappy punch of SuckerPunch pickles. We can't think of anything better to pair with a bloody mary marinated steak kabob.

Pickle Dip

If you're familiar with the SuckerPunch Blog, you undoubtedly have read our article about our dill pickle dip. Every good steak kabob deserves an equally superb dip, and this one is the SuckerPunch take on a cucumber classic. Made with dill pickles, fresh herbs, and SuckerPunch pickle juice, this dip packs a little more punch than your classic tzatziki.

Biscuits

This one doesn't require much explanation. Biscuits are delicious, and bread is always an acceptable side dish for all types of kebabs. This is the perfect side for those who like tasty food but don't like to put forth a whole lot of effort as biscuits can be removed from a can and placed into an oven for hassle-free cooking.

Plus, if you have biscuits, you can make yourself a mini shish kabob slider...and yes, those sliders DO need a SuckerPunch pickle on top.

Potato Salad

Potatoes are about as much of a vegetable as pickles, so we feel confident that we're in the clear, including this in our list of optimal side dishes. While there are many recipes for potato salad, we believe the best recipe is one that adds a splash of SuckerPunch brine and some finely chopped Original Spicy Garlic Chips for a spicy snap.

We're not saying that this steak kabob recipe requires you to host a dinner party. In fact, we're all for you making a whole tray of steak kabobs just for you to treat yourself. However, should you decide to have some guests over to showcase your incredible culinary prowess, we recommend having some extra SuckerPunch Bloody Mary Mix on hand.

Not to bury the lede, but if we're being totally honest, the best side dish for Bloody Mary marinated kebab is a SuckerPunch Bloody Mary. Just add vodka, and enjoy responsibly.

Salud.
